Grow your own for Cinderella

In preparation for its next panto, Cinderella, Durham's Gala Theatre is encouraging its customers to “grow your own”, and in conjunction with the Poplar Tree Garden Centre in Shincliffe village, is running a pumpkin growing competition. Packets of pumpkin seeds are available for collection from Gala Box Office on a first-come first served basis. All entries must be returned to Gala the weekend of Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th November for inclusion. The winners will receive tickets to one of the theatre's in-house shows in 2011.

Donald McBride will appear as one of the ugly sisters; Neil Armstrong as Cinderella’s wicked step uncle, Baron Gristle; Spennymoor based actor, Paul Hartley as Buttons, and his partner in crime, Jane Deane, as Dishes. All four have appeared in both of Gala’s previous in-house pantomimes. Joining them will be Australian born actor, Tom Caley, who plays Prince Charming and Helen Embleton, as Fairy Marigold, Cinderella’s fairy godmother.

Cinderella is at the Gala Theatre from Wednesday 1st December 2010 until Saturday 8th January 2011.
